A unique PRIM watch to be auctioned to raise money for Czech soldiers and war veterans
A luxury PRIM watch will be auctioned in the Galerie KODL charity auction in November. The money will be donated to the Military Solidarity Fund, which helps Czech soldiers, and their families in difficult life situations. The watch of the traditional Czech brand PRIM has been donated to the auction by the CZECHOSLOVAK GROUP (CSG) holding. On October 15, the auction contract was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of CSG and the General Director of the CSGM holding company Miroslav Dorňák and Martin Kodl, owner of the gallery.

The auction will take place on November 29. The wristwatch called PRIM ORLÍK DLC - We will remain faithful has been manufactured for this occasion by ELTON hodinářská, the only PRIM watches manufacturer.
"In November, we will commemorate the Veterans Day honouring war veterans around the world. On this occasion, we want to support the Czech soldiers, and their families facing difficult moments. The Military Solidarity Fund, which was formed after the tragedy of Czech soldiers in Afghanistan in 2014, is a reliable partner who knows how to use the money efficiently and fairly," said Miroslav Dorňák, Deputy Chairman of the Board in CSG. "We are very grateful to Mr. Kodl and his renowned gallery for allowing us to arrange this auction for a good cause," he added.

"The KODL Gallery regularly organizes auctions to help those in need. In this way, we have been supporting Centrum Paraple, Konto bariéry or Paměť národa platforms. This spring, we also held charity auctions for lesser-known non-profit organizations that aid the weakest and most vulnerable. It is a great honour to support Czech soldiers and veterans for the second time already, through the auction organized together with the CZECHOSLOVAK GROUP,“ Martin Kodl said.
The auctioned watch differs from regular models chiefly thanks to the image of the Czechoslovak flag located on the dial next to the date window. The back side has also been customized: it is decorated with the inscription WE WILL REMAIN FAITHFUL (in Czech) and a sheet music with the first tones of the Czech national anthem, and a Czech flag. The watch is equipped with the PRIM in-house mechanical movement. However, only a single piece of this watch has been made, which significantly increases its value.

Almost each of the 140 pieces of this special watch has been manufactured in ELTON hodinářská in Nové Město nad Metují, whose tradition dates back to 1949.
The ORLÍK model is considered to be an icon of Czech watchmaking. Order by the then Czechoslovak Army in the mid-1960s, the original model was created only in 300 pieces. Today, it is one of the most sought-after and almost unattainable collector's gems with a price reaching astronomical amounts.
The watch can be viewed during the pre-auction exhibition, from October 5 to November 28, 2020 in the KODL Gallery (or at www.galeriekodl.cz). The auction starting price has been set at CZK 100,000, and the auction estimate ranges between CZK 300,000 and 600,000.
