Recently, the 26th General Assembly of the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic (DSIA) took place at the premises of the Brno University of Defence, with over 100 member companies out of 137 members attending. The press release is attached.

In addition to representatives of member companies, the General Assembly of the DSIA was attended by a number of distinguished guests, some of whom also made presentations, namely Col. doc. Ing. Jan Bořil, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Scientific and Expert Activities of the University of Defence, PhDr. Tomáš Kopečný, Deputy for Management of the Industrial Cooperation Section of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, Ing. Jan Dejl, Deputy Director of the Property Share Management Section of the MIT of the Czech Republic, Ing. Ladislav Steinhübel, Deputy Secretary of the Section for Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Genmjr. Ing. Ivo Střecha, Director of the Force Development Section of the MoD (General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces), Michal Zuna, Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic (Security Committee of the Parliament of the Czech Republic), Brig. Gen. Ing. Daniel Miklós, MPA, Deputy Director General of the Fire Rescue Corps of the Czech Republic, Ing. Daniel Krumpolc, Director General of the Czech Export Bank, JUDr. Marek Dlouhý, Deputy Chairman of the Board of EGAP, Ing. Milan Kukla, Chairman of the Czech Bureau for Testing of Weapons and Ammunition, and Jakub Smetánka, Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of LEX z.s.

The key topic of this year's AGM was the issue of the so-called EU taxonomy and the banking sector's restrictions on defence and security industry companies. DSIA therefore calls on the Czech Government to address the issue of the EU taxonomy and the non-provision of banking services to defence and security industry companies. The DSIA will support any legislative efforts that lead to ensuring equal access for the banking sector to defence and security industry companies. The General Assembly also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Association and the Czech Export Bank (CEB). It was signed on behalf of the DSIA by President RNDr. Jiří Hynek and on behalf of the CEB by CEO Ing. Daniel Krumpolc. The agreement between DSIA and CEB is another effort to improve conditions for Czech exporters in the defence and security sector.

The number of DSIA members is increasing every year, which speaks about the growing importance of DSIA as a partner of the state administration and institutions in the Czech Republic, EU and NATO, but also as an organizer and coordinator of a number of activities for the benefit of its members at home and on foreign markets. This year's DSIA General Assembly approved the admission of 15 new members. Thank you for your confidence and all the company representatives and guests present for their participation.
