Another defence development project from the Military Technical Institute (VTÚ, s.p.) is heading to the Army of the Czech Republic. Members of the Czech Armed Forces have recently taken over the automated unmanned ground reconnaissance vehicle UGV-PzV in the branch plant of the Military Technical Institute of Armaments and Ammunition Slavičín.  It is built on the basis of the well-known automated wheeled robot TAROS 6x6 and the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion in Prostějov will be the first one to acquire it.

Meanwhile, it will be the prototype of the ground reconnaissance vehicle UGV-Pz. Basically, it consists of two identical UGV-Pz sub-assemblies. Each of these sets is formed by an unmanned reconnaissance vehicle (UGV, built on the basis of the TAROS 6x6 platform) intended to carry purpose (reconnaissance, in this case) superstructure of sensors and devices for conducting optoelectronic radar research, detection, reconnaissance, identification and acquisition of ground targets, with the possibility of fitting other electronic warfare systems.

Another part of the UGV-Pz prototype kit is the ground control station (GCS) which consists of two operator workstations (platform control operator and survey operator) and the UGV-Pz commander workstation. The UGV-Pz ground control station is modular, its subsystems are stored in PELI cases or in transport fabric containers.  The GCS subsystems are fully transportable either on the UGV platform or in the LOV 50 B vehicle which also serves for the transport of a three-member UGV-Pz service and as a towing vehicle for the UGV-Pz transporter (built on the basis of the CL ARM 35 KV trailer).

By this step, the Army, or more precisely the explorers, go up the level of foreign armies. Hopefully, this forerunner will not be the last and the VTÚ, s. p. will supply the Army of the Czech Republic with other components that provide the soldiers with an overview of the battlefield ant the skills that the soldiers must otherwise substitute directly.
