In the first half of October, the representatives of Tatra Trucks and Tatra Defence Vehicle, which are based in the industrial area in Kopřivnice, North Moravia, welcomed soldiers and employees of the Military Office of the President of the Republic and the Castle Guard, as well as students of the Military High School and the Higher Vocational School of the Ministry of Defence in Moravská Třebová to their production facilities. Soldiers and students could thus get acquainted with the company's activities, production and try out modern military equipment.

Tatra trucks are synonymous with the military vehicles of the Czech army, as more than 90 percent of the logistics fleet of the Czech Armed Forces is made up of vehicles bearing the Tatra brand. Tatra has been a partner of the Czechoslovak and Czech army for decades, and the first new vehicles that the Czechoslovak army put into service in 1919 carried the Tatra brand. Today, Tatra Trucks supplies the army with modern trucks of the Tatra Force and Tatra Tactic series, which are used for logistical purposes, but also as carriers of various special bodies and weapon systems.

During their visit at the beginning of October, members of the Military Office of the President of the Republic and the Castle Guard, and in mid-October also students from the VSŠ and VOŠ from Moravská Třebová, were able to get acquainted with the process of final assembly of various types and versions of Tatra vehicles directly at the premises of the automobile plant. Before that, Tatra representatives introduced them to the history and present of the company and its plans for the future. They were then able to experience first-hand what Tatras can handle and do on a smooth road circuit as well as in difficult terrain and on various test surfaces on the carmaker's test track.

After visiting the Tatra Trucks factory, the soldiers and students visited the nearby Tatra Defence Vehicle company. The company is the youngest Czech armaments factory and specialises in the development, production, repair and modernisation of armoured ground vehicles. The company currently produces mainly Pandur II 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicles and also TITUS 6x6 armoured vehicles, which it supplies abroad in addition to the Czech army. In addition, it also produces and develops armoured cabins and superstructures for Tatra chassis. The soldiers and students visited the premises where the final assembly of TITUS vehicles for the Czech Armed Forces is currently taking place, as well as the workplace for the production of armoured cabs for vehicles destined for the Belgian army. They also had the opportunity to see test samples of these cabins, which passed blast and ballistic tests.

At the end of their visit to Kopřivnice, the soldiers and students visited the new Tatra Truck Museum, where they saw an extensive collection of Tatra trucks, utility vehicles, special and racing cars, which traces the entire history of car production in Kopřivnice.
