Česká zbrojovka will arm policemen in Slovakia
The Czech defence industry has a very good reputation in the world. The Czechoslovak production at that time was phenomenal and we are not lagging behind even today. Therefore, the pleasing news was that the Slovak police had chosen the products of Česká zbrojovka for its armament that will replace the already outdated pistols of the model 82. The Austrian Glock with its model 17 of the fourth generation also succeeded in the tender.

“Newly introduced pistols are of better quality, have low weight, modern design, higher magazine capacity and have a more powerful calibre of 9 mm Luger,” said Milan Šagát, the Director of the Training Department of the Presidium of the Slovak Police Force. The outdated pistol CZ 82 of the calibre 9 mm Browning has been already overcome and the police force in Slovakia will receive the latest types of modern pistols in the most popular calibre 9 mm thanks to Česká zbrojovka. The Slovak police will rearm all the units, even the specialized ones.
And what models will there be? The CZ P-07 DUTY that was launched in 2009. It is a self-loading pistol of a compact size 9 mm calibre Luger with plastic frame, steel lock and barrel locking modified by Browning system with quadratic barrel end in the enlarged ejection port. The pistol is equipped with the trigger mechanism SA/DA (type CZ Omega). The magazine capacity is 16 rounds of 9 mm Luger. The control elements consist of a bolt carrier (firing readiness) and an external mechanical fuse, which can be easily exchanged for the lever for trigger discharging. Other safety features are blocking the firing pin (fuse drop) and safety barb of the firing mechanism of the trigger. In the front part of the plastic frame under the gun barrel there is the Mil-STD-1913 bar, on which it is possible to install a tactical flashlight or laser targeting. It is the most modern modification of the most popular CZ 75.

Furthermore, there is the CZ 2075 RAMI that is a semi-automatic pistol of the calibre 9 mm Luger. It is produced in two versions with plastic frame or aluminium alloy frame. The abbreviation RAMI is an acronym of the first names of the creators of this weapon; Radek Hauerland and Milan Trkulja. The capacity of the magazine is 10 rounds and, thanks to its dimensions, it is expected that it will be designed especially for policewomen. In this case, it is a modification that has the CZ 75 design in the birth certificate.

In addition to pistols from Uherský Brod, the police in Slovakia will also receive the Glock 17 of the fourth generation, 9 mm calibre Luger. It would be pointless to introduce this classic. Eventually, the Slovak police will modernize itself significantly. The police officers have been currently retrained for the new types of weapons mentioned above.
